Affiliate marketing is a channel of advertising and online sales in which advertisers (online merchants that sell products or services) pay publishers (independent companies that promote products or services of an advertiser on your site Web) only for results, for each visitor makes a purchase or fill out a form, and not simply to reach a target audience. This model of "pay for performance" is essentially the modern version of the model of "broker fee" (finders-fee), in which individuals or companies that capture new customers through a program are paid for it. In the case of affiliate marketing, the difference is that advertisers pay publishers only when attracting new customers is the result a sale or disclosure of a potential customer, this makes for an environment of low risk and highly beneficial for both parties.
HOW IT WORKS
Advertisers in our network, the CJ Marketplace, insert their advertising links on our platform, so they are available to publishers for placement. Each link is assigned a commission, for example, a fixed amount for each lead or a percentage of the sale resulting in the advertiser's Web site. Publishers looking to monetize their web sites applying to participate in the program for an advertiser. Once accepted, they select and place the advertiser's links on their Web sites in their email campaigns or search engines.
When a user is surfing the Internet and click the link to an advertiser, you insert a cookie in your browser that identifies the advertiser, the publisher, the specific link and associated committee. When the visitor makes an actual purchase online or fills out a form, Commission Junction tracks and records the operation. Upon registration of the transaction, Commission Junction handles all the collection and processing necessary to ensure fair and timely payment of the fee to the publisher, and all the administration and verification necessary to guarantee sales and quality leads for the advertiser.
